Portrait of Everyone & No-one #5: Reclining Woman

2024

Oil on Panel

48 X 36 Inches

Collection: The Cold side

Series: Portrait of Everyone & No-one

Portrait of Everyone & No-one explores the border between dreaming and reality. The faces we encounter in our dreams are not entirely new but a collage of those we've seen while awake. By painting intuitively from imagination, portraits emerge that are not of a specific person, but carry the essence of all who have passed through my life.

This piece represents a woman’s journey, grounded in self-love and confidence, as she navigates life and aging. Through the symbolic use of pearls and pomegranates—long associated with fertility and feminine power—it reflects the transcendence of societal expectations tied to womanhood and fertility. Elements like the window, forest, and mountain evoke a sense of hope, growth, and resilience, while the colour red underscores vitality and strength.
